Who is Certificate IV in Business for?
This course is designed for candidates looking to advance their career within the business services sector, specifically who wish to work as administrators and project officers.
What will I learn on the course?
In this role, you use well developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable situations and analyse information from a variety of sources.
Graduates may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.
What are the teaching methods?
At Bayside International College, the delivery mode is face-to-face institution based delivery and assessment. The delivery mode of training is highly practical with a combination of lecture, group activities, pair work and class presentations.
Therefore, in your lessons you will do a lot of practice in situations that look like the real world. There will be a lot of discussions, presentations, address customer needs, implement customer service standards, write complex documents, design and develop complex text documents and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirement. Technology plays an important part in learning at Bayside International College; you will use the Internet in scheduled computer-access lessons fully directed by your university-trained teacher.
Will there be any assessment?
Each unit comprises of assessment tasks such as written questions, case studies and practical assessments which must be completed in full before being submitted for marking. Assessments for qualifications are competency based, which means students are assessed against the unit of competency (unit) requirements.
Once a student receives a satisfactory result for all required assessment tasks, a competent outcome will be awarded for the entire unit. The student must demonstrate their understanding of all competency standards in each unit before receiving a competent outcome.
What do I get when I finish?
Graduates of the Certificate IV in Business will develop an understanding of the dynamics and principles underlying effective functioning of work groups, as well as the necessary skills to competently function within small and/or large organisations. Possible job titles relevant include:

After achieving the Certificate IV in Business from Bayside International College, students may continue to develop through the Leadership and Management pathway or study an Advanced Diploma / Diploma of Business.
How do I enrol?
You should meet the standard academic requirements:
- Successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent in the English language, or
- Any AQF qualification at a Certificate III level or above in any discipline area delivered and assessed in English only will be deemed as meeting both the academic and English language entry requirements.
